PageRank Completely Updated

Monday, April 30th, 2007

PageRank 4The Google Toolbar is now showing that this Blog has a PageRank of 4! Which means my PageRank Update has gone live through all (or most) of Google’s Datacenter’s IP Addresses, as you can clearly see here. This is sweet!

PageRank 3My new site-in-the-works, LiveMP.Net, got a PageRank of 3 during the update. Which is quite strange, since there’s really nothing on it yet… But, as you can see here, all but 1 of Google’s Datacenter’s IP Addresses has the site marked with a PageRank of 3. Sweet, but odd. 😛

PageRank Update

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

It appears that Google is doing a PageRank update. This tool says that on 23 of Google’s servers, I have a PageRank of 4. The rest of Google’s servers should be updated with the new PageRank in a couple of days, hopefully.

That’s a pretty big jump, from 0 to 4 in the 4 months I’ve had this Blog up and running. 😀

Maybe now that I’m getting a higher PageRank, I’ll get accepted into sites like Text Link Ads and ReviewMe.

Akismet Has Blocked 1000 SPAM Comments From Matt's Blog

Yesterday morning This Blog reached the 1000 SPAM Comment mark. That’s right, Akismet has caught over 1000 SPAM Comments on This Blog since I started This Blog (early January, 2007).

Back Up to Speed

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

I installed a WordPress Plugin about a week ago that required me to turn off GZIP Compression for this Blog. But I didn’t really like the Plugin, so I disabled it, but forgot to turn GZIP back on. Then I was noticing that this Blog was loading really slowly. Well, I thought to myself, there are 2 videos and more image then usually on the front page, that must be it. But, when I came over here today and noticed it took 5 seconds to process the page, I knew something was wrong. So, I went into the Options and decided to try to lower the amount of Posts shown on the front page. Then, I saw it, sitting unchecked staring at me was the GZIP option. Then it hit me, my Blog was loading so slowly because I never turned GZIP back on.

I never really knew that GZIP made such a difference to loading times. So, if your Blog, Forum, Site or whatever is loading slowly, go enable GZIP, you’ll be glad you did.

So, now I have GZIP enabled and the Blog’s loading at it’s average rate of about 0.200 seconds.

Blog Layout Issues Fixed

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

I’ve finally fixed most of the layout issues on this Blog’s Theme. Most of them were me forgetting to change some div’s when I made this layout into a WP Theme and Navigation/Footer problems with Firefox. But, I’ve gone through and fixed most of them. A couple of minor issues still exist (such as if the Content is smaller, in height, then the Navigation Bar, and a small line of the Navigational Bar background colour at the bottom of the Content showing up), but the major issues have been fixed.
