April Fools: CrunchGear Gets New Design
April 1st, 2007 at 6:29 PM by Matt FreedmanCrunchGear now has a new (cough) website design. Nice April Fools joke, a little too retro, though. This must’ve been what websites looked like when HTML 1 was released. 😛 Okay, maybe not then, but still a long time ago. 😛
Ubuntu Gets Internet Explorer and FireFox Mixed Up
April 1st, 2007 at 3:58 PM by Matt FreedmanThe other day, Ubuntu announced that you can beta test 7.04, and listed some of the new features. One of which was this:
Windows migration tool: The new migration tool recognises Internet Explorer bookmarks, Firefox favourites, desktop wallpaper, AOL IM contacts, and Yahoo IM contacts, and imports them into Ubuntu during installation. This offers easier and faster migration for new users of Ubuntu and individuals wanting to run a dual-boot system.
Internet Explorer bookmarks, FireFox favourites? Uh, no. It’s Internet Explorer favourites and FireFox bookmarks. They sorta got that mixed up, nice one Ubuntu. 😛
April Fools?: PHP.Net Logos
April 1st, 2007 at 12:47 PM by Matt FreedmanI’ve noticed today that the PHP logo on PHP.Net has changed. This is possibly an April Fools Joke.
php.net:
ca.php.net and us2.php.net:
That’s all the different logo that I found, but there may be more. Some mirrors have the normal logo, some have a broken image for a logo (as in, the file doesn’t exist 😛 ) and some have one of the above logos.
This would be a weird April Fools joke, if it is one…
April Fools: BlueFur Moving to Cayman Islands
April 1st, 2007 at 12:18 PM by Matt FreedmanBlueFur’s Owner has become sick of all the Canadian Taxes, and has decided to move business to the Cayman Islands. They will no longer has to pay any business taxes, or any taxes at all. They say that business will not be affected and all servers will remain where they are, in the US and Canada.
Not a bad April Fools joke… But, I’m sure it’s been done many times, and it’s not all that believable. Still good, though.
