Well, PriceProtectr certainly has a Web 2.0ish name… Now, what does it do? Well, since quite a lot of stores offer Price Protection (where if the price on the item you just bought goes down within 30 or 60 days, they’ll pay you the difference), this site takes the URL of the product you bought from the store you bought from and your email address and it will email you if the price drops. Simple as that, now you’ll be able to take advantage of Price Protection without having to go and check everyday if the price has dropped. It looks like it could really take off. I wouldn’t be surprised if this year that a big company will offer to buy it.

They currently support the following online stores:

Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk, Backcountry.com, BestBuy.com, BestBuy.ca, Bike Nashbar, Circuit City, CompUSA, Cooking.com, Costco, Future Shop, Jenson USA, Office Max, Sears, 6th Avenue Electronics, Staples.com, Staples.ca and Target.

It’s nice that they’ve included some Canadian stores in there. I think that once they start offering support for even more popular stores, they’ll really take off. So, go check it out and maybe you’ll save some money. 😀

I actually put the URL of where I bought Vista from, but in the process I noticed they had already lowered the price once they had stopped offering the free Wireless N router… So, I’ll be going over there and getting that $11. 😛
